CARSON CITY – Interwest Energy Alliance executive director Sarah Propst released the following statement today in response to the bipartisan group of 17 governors who signed the Governors’ Accord for a New Energy Future:

“The renewable energy industry has the power to deliver not only 21st century energy sources, but a 21st century economy. Clean energy technology has brought economic growth to western states even in the darkest of economic times, and interstate partnerships that pave the way for greater investment in this industry will only accelerate that progress. We applaud Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval and the 16 other governors who joined this Accord for their continued leadership on this issue. This effort will reap important economic, environmental, and health benefits for residents of Nevada and families across the country who want to join the migration away from fossil fuels toward clean, reliable, cost-effective renewable power.
